Eighth Amendment to discuss international legal services context & termination in cases of foetal abnormality

The Oireachtas Committee on the Eight Amendment will focus on the international legal services context and termination in cases of foetal abnormality at its meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, 22 November 2017.

The agenda for the meeting is:

Session A: International Legal/Services context [Dr. Patricia Lohr, Medical Director, British Pregnancy Advisory Service]
Session B: Termination in cases of Foetal Abnormality [Ms. Liz McDermott, One Day More]

Senator Catherine Noone, Chair of the Committee said: “The Committee will continue its hearings on the recommendations contained in the report from the Citizen’s Assembly. The first part of our meeting will consider the International legal/services context with Dr Paticia Lohr, Medical Director of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service. Session B will consider termination in cases of Foetal Abnormality with Liz McDermott from the support group One Day More.”

This meeting will take place in Committee 3 at 1.30pm on Wednesday, 22 November 2017. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.

The Committee will meet again on Thursday, 23 November when it will receive an insight into obstetric medicine in the Netherlands from Professor Sjef Gevers, Emeritus Professor of Health Law, University of Amsterdam; and Professor Eva Pajkrt, Professor of Obstetrics, University of Amsterdam.
