Report on the Sport Horse Industry will also be examined

Brexit will be back on the agenda when the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine meets tomorrow. Representatives from Bord Bia will appear before the Committee.

In the second part of the meeting, the Committee will discuss a report entitled, ‘Untapped Potential: Unlocking the Economic Potential of the Irish Sport Horse Industry’ with Sports Horse Alliance.

Committee Chair, Pat Deering TD said today, “Bord Bia will brief the Committee on the food sector’s progress as it prepares for the UK’s exit from the EU. The Committee will discuss issues such as customs and tariffs, financial resilience and overall Brexit readiness.”

“The Committee will then turn to the sport horse sector and will engage with Sports Horse Alliance on their recent report which outlines the issues facing the sector and what needs to be done to assist it in achieving its potential.”

The meeting will start at 3.30pm in Committee Room 1, Leinster House.
