The Regional Internet Service Providers Association (RISPA) will appear before the Joint Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment to discuss the National Broadband Plan (NBP) tomorrow, Tuesday, 16 July.

RISPA is an umbrella body for regional internet service providers, who use a mix of both fibre and the latest fixed wireless technology to deliver internet connections to about 125,000 homes and businesses throughout Ireland.

Speaking before the meeting, Committee chairperson, Hildegarde Naughton TD said: “The hearing is part of the Committee’s on-going  investigation to examine the NBP process thus far and how best to proceed and the best means to roll out rural broadband.

“We look forward to hearing from RISPA in relation to the work that its members currently do to deliver internet connections to homes across Ireland.”

Proceedings can be viewed live in Leinster House, Committee Room 1 from 2pm here.
