Oireachtas Committee to discuss future of Ireland with MLA Trevor Lunn and Rev Karen Sethuraman

The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement will meet MLA Trevor Lunn and Rev Karen Sethuraman to discuss the future of Ireland at a virtual meeting in Leinster House tomorrow, Tuesday 11 May at 9.30am.

The meeting will take place from Committee Room 3. Trevor Lunn is an Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lagan Valley. He is a former Mayor of Lisburn and former member of the Alliance Party. He recently joined the organisation, Ireland’s Future.  Rev Karen Sethuraman is the first and only female Baptist Minister in Ireland. She is currently a Pastor of SoulSpace, a Peace and Reconciliation hub, based in Belfast. Speaking before the meeting, Cathaoirleach of the Committee Fergus O’Dowd TD said: “The Committee welcomes this engagement with Mr Lunn and Rev Sethuraman to get their views and opinions on the best way forward for the island of Ireland and its people.

“It is also a welcome opportunity to hear their views on proposals being made on the best way forward for Ireland including the possibility and viability of new constitutional arrangements on the Island’.”
