Education Committee continues Pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill 2021

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science will continue Pre-legislative scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill 2021, tomorrow, Tuesday 20 July, with officials from the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and representatives from the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).

The meeting at 3:30 pm will be broadcast from Committee Room 4 of Leinster House.

Speaking in advance of the meeting, Cathaoirleach, Paul Kehoe TD, said: “The Committee continues the important work of scrutinising the General Scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill 2021 through the pre-legislative scrutiny process. We look forward to a briefing which will help us in our examination of this very important proposed piece of legislation.”

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
