Committee of Public Accounts to examine 2020 Financial Statements with Home Building Finance Ireland

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 3 March, with representatives of Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI) to examine its Financial Statements 2020.

The meeting at 9.30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be joined by the C&AG, Seamus McCarthy.

The afternoon session, beginning at 1.30pm, will consider the minutes of last week’s meeting, correspondence and other business of the Committee.

PAC Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Stanley said: “Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI) was incorporated in December 2018 to provide funding at market rates for commercially viable residential developments in the State.

“HBFI was formally launched with an initial loan fund of up to €730m through the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund. HBFI stated at the time that it was capable of the delivery of up to 7,500 new housing units in its first five years.

“The Committee looks forward to examining the 2020 Financial Statements and related matters with the representatives of HBFI.”
