Gender Equality Committee to discuss care and social protection with representatives from disability advocacy groups

The Joint Committee on Gender Equality will meet on Thursday June 23rd to resume its discussion on the report of the Citizens’ Assembly on Gender Equality.

The Committee will discuss recommendations 4-19 of the Citizens’ Assembly report regarding Care and Social Protection which can be read in full here.

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House between 09:00-12:00. 

Representatives from Disability Federation of Ireland Representatives, Disabled Women Ireland and Independent Living Movement Ireland will address the meeting. 

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Ivana Bacik said: “We look forward to resuming our discussion on the recommendations of the Citizens’ Assembly report regarding care and social protection with representatives from disability advocacy groups.”
