The committee shadows the Department of Justice and Equality and considers policy in the fields of justice, security, the rule of law and equality to ensure that Irish society is safe, secure, just, open-minded and impartial.
Direct provision
The Committee has published a report on direct provision and the international protection application process. The report concludes that the system needs root and branch reform or, preferably, replacement.
