The Committee was established to consider the recommendations contained in the Report of the Citizens’ Assembly on Gender Equality. The Committee shall report to both the Dáil and Seanad within nine months of its first public meeting.

Final report | Unfinished Democracy: Achieving Gender Equality
Indicating that the Committee sees the 45 citizen assembly recommendations as a blueprint for achieving a gender-equal Ireland, it outlines an action plan for change, complete with meaningful timelines for implementation.
The Committee emphasises a need to reform legislation and regulation and to establish better public services and improved social protection in order to advance gender equality.
Interim report on constitutional change
The Committee has published its interim report on constitutional change, detailing its considerations of the 45 recommendations contained in the Report of the Citizens’ Assembly on Gender Equality.
It also discusses the possible response of the Government to the recommendations, indicating its recommendation that a constitutional referendum be held in 2023 to give effect to the assembly recommendations.
