The first item on the agenda is the election of the vice-Chairman. Standing Order 88(2) provides that as soon as possible after the election of a Chairman every committee should elect one of its members to be vice-Chairman. I ask for nominations.
Election of Vice-Chairman.
I propose Deputy John McGuinness.
I second that.
As there are no other nominations I deem Deputy John McGuinness to be elected. I congratulate Deputy McGuinness and I look forward to working with him on what will be a very effective Committee. I am delighted that he has been elected vice-Chairman.
The Committee went into private session at 11.15 a.m. and resumed in public session at11.30 a.m.
Mr. J. Purcell (An tÁrd Reachtaire Cuntas agus Ciste) called and examined.
