To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Miss Gretta Brennan was arrested in her home in Collooney on 24th January, and kept in Markrea Castle all day long without food; that she was transferred to Boyle that night on a motor and taken to Athlone the following day, no warm clothing being supplied; that she was taken from Athlone to Sligo and compelled to walk through the town from the station to the jail during ordinary business hours, and that she was taken next day by motor to Buncrana, where she is still detained; will he state what are the reasons for this girl's arrest and whether he is prepared to have her brought to trial or released.

Miss Brennan was arrested in Collooney on 24th January. She was not kept without food in Markrea Castle. She was transferred to Boyle next day and while there was kept in a Hotel. She was then taken to Sligo where she walked about 300 yards to the Jail, and on the next day was sent to Buncrana. She was actively engaged with Irregulars carrying despatches and assisting them generally. A charge has not yet been formulated against her.
