Vol. 2 No. 35

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - CO. MEATH PRISONERS.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether two young men named James O'Connell and C. Hughes, Skryne, Co. Meath, were arrested by National Troops on January 16th or 17th; whether they are still detained without any charge being preferred against them; whether he is aware that it is stated on their behalf that they have not taken any active part against the Government, but that on the contrary they assisted the Government Forces for some time after the outbreak of fighting; and to ask what are the prospects of the release of these prisoners.

Enquiries are being made, but they have not yet been completed.
