Vol. 2 No. 35

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - DÁIL ARBITRATION COURT FEES

To ask the Minister for Home Affairs if any order was made by his department or, so far as he is aware, by his predecessor to the effect that the fees paid by intending litigants to the Registrars of the Dáil Arbitration or District Courts should be forfeited where the case did not come on for trial, due to the fact that these Courts were prevented from functioning owing to the activities of the Crown forces, and would any such order, if made, apply to money paid by litigants in 1920.

I am not aware that any such Order was made, and I would consider such an Order inequitable. If the Deputy will mention any specific case where it is suggested that such an Order has been enforced investigation will be made.
