[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - A PORTLAOIGHISE ARREST.

To ask the Minister for Defence to state the reason for the arrest of Joseph Beere, Clonkeen, Portlaoighise, on December 11th, 1921, and for his continued detention without charge or trial in Templemore Jail. If Beere is willing or has actually signed the usual form of undertaking, and if he is prepared, under the circumstances, to recommend his release.

Mr. Beers was arrested for having in his possession a sporting gun. He has signed the usual form of undertaking. It is intended to have him put on trial.
