Vol. 2 No. 39

REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON PROCEDURE.

The first matter on the Order Paper to-day is the Report of Committee on Procedure.

I suppose the best way this Report could be dealt with would be that some member of the Committee would move that it be received, and then that the Dáil should consider it in Committee with a view to adopting it with or without amendments. That was the procedure we adopted in the case of former Standing Orders, and as you, A Chinn Chomhairle, were Chairman of the Committee and are precluded by your present office from making a motion of that kind, I beg to move now "That the Report be received, and that the Dáil will proceed to consider same in Committee."

I beg to second the motion.

I do not know whether you consider, if the motion is carried, that it would be necessary to move each Standing Order separately. I suggest that that would be scarcely necessary.

I think it would not be necessary to move each separately. The motion now is that the Report be received, and that we go into Committee on the Standing Orders and consider them with a view to amendment, if necessary.

Question put and agreed to.
