Vol. 3 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - SECRETARYSHIP OF LEIX HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether it is his intention to sanction the appointment of the present Secretary of the Leix Hospital and Homes Committee, who was examined for the position, but failed to qualify; whether it is his intention to hold a further examination for the purpose of obtaining a fully qualified Secretary, and, if so, when it is proposed to hold such an examination.

The permanent appointment of the present Acting Secretary of the Leix County Home and Hospital Committee has not been sanctioned for the reason stated in the question. It is considered, however, that, as he has given satisfaction during the last twelve months in the performance of his official duties, he should be given another opportunity to qualify by examination, and this examination will take place very shortly.
