Vol. 5 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRE-TRUCE LOSSES OCCASIONED BY I.R.A.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is in a position to make an announcement regarding the setting up of a branch similar to the War Compensation Court, to deal with pre-Truce losses occasioned by I.R.A. forces during their operations against British forces prior to the Truce.

The setting up of such a tribunal as is suggested is not contemplated. The Compensation (Ireland) Commission, a body set up by agreement between the British and Irish Governments, investigates alike cases of alleged damage by both sides in the late conflict.
