WRITTEN ANSWERS. - PAYMENT DUE TO KILBEGGAN VOLUNTEER.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Vol. Christopher Mooney, Mill Street, Kilbeggan, was invalided out of the Army on September 28th, 1923, that the sum of £58 is due to him in respect of pay and dependents allowance, that his "discharge" has not yet been forwarded to him from Collins' Barracks; to ask when payment will be made and "discharge" forwarded.

Private Mooney proceeded on demobilisation leave on 28th September, 1923, and was discharged from the Army as medically unfit on 26th October, 1923. A cheque for £7 17s. 6d. in respect of pay due to him was forwarded on 21st December last, whilst a further cheque for £25 13s. 6d. in respect of Dependents' Allowance was sent to him on the 4th inst. These amounts clear his account. A Discharge Certificate wash forwarded to him on 21st ultimo.
