Vol. 6 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - GRANTS FOR BRITISH EX-SERVICE MEN.

asked the Minister for Finance whether there are any funds for the use of British ex-service men in Ireland, and if so, whether he can state what is the amount of the grants, how much has been expended to date, under what heads has the expenditure been incurred, and by whom those funds are administered.

Apart from the provision made directly by the British Government for its own ex-service men who are resident in the Saorstát, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce administered on an agency basis certain schemes which are financed by British funds. The amount expended under these schemes since the 1st April, 1922, is approximately £76,000.
