Vol. 6 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ARVA (CAVAN) WATER SUPPLY.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the water supply of the town of Arva, Co. Cavan, is unsatisfactory and insufficient for the needs of the town; whether he is in a position to cause an inquiry to be held into the matter.

I am informed that the local medical officer of health has drawn the attention of the Cavan Rural District Council to the defective condition of the water supply of Arva, and that the Council on the advice of their engineer erected one new pump there within the past year.

If the residents complain that the sanitary authority have been in default in the matter, that danger to the health of the inhabitants arises from the insufficiency or quality of the existing supply, and that a proper supply can be obtained at a reasonable cost, arrangements will be made for holding an inquiry.
