Vol. 6 No. 6

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - PAYMENT TO CARBURY (KILDARE) SOLDIER.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Thomas Gorman, of Coonagh, Carbury, Co. Kildare, Army No. 2234, Engineers Corps, attested 1st July, 1922; that he has not been paid corps proficiency pay of 3/- per day due to him for time worked as a carpenter from the 7th September, 1922, to the 27th March, 1923, in Edenderry Barracks, the officers in charge during that time being Commandant Flanagan, Lieutenant Dowling, Captain Hamilton, Captain Kenny, and Commandant Kelly; and whether instructions will be given to have payment expedited.

Thomas Gorman served in the 45th Infantry Battalion, and not in the Engineers Corps. He was not employed as a tradesman, and he is not, therefore, entitled to proficiency pay.
