Vol. 6 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DISCHARGED TUBERCULAR SOLDIERS AND PENSION ALLOWANCES.

asked the Minister for Defence whether men discharged from the army as medically unfit owing to tuberculosis contracted on service are eligible for a disability pension, and whether men in receipt of such a pension and desirous of emigrating to the United States, America, will be allowed to commute it for a lump sum.

I have to refer the Deputy to my reply to Deputy Byrne yesterday on a somewhat similar question. Men discharged from the army owing to tuberculosis are not eligible for a disability pension.
