Vol. 6 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RETURN OF SEIZED GUN.

asked the Minister for Defence if an application has been received at Army Headquarters from John Doyle, South Quay, New Ross, for the return of a gun taken by R.I.C. on 31st August, 1920.

Mr. Doyle's application has been received, and search is being made for the gun. The result will be communicated at an early date.

Would the Minister be surprised to hear that a communication has been received from Woolwich Arsenal from the authorities there saying that the gun is lying there, and would the Minister undertake to have inquiries made into the matter?

We are in communication with the British in the matter of a large number of arms that are belonging to persons in this country. Those arms are at present lying at Woolwich Arsenal, and it will take some time before the matter can be finally settled.
