Vol. 6 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - STORING AND BONDING OF FILMS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether a monopoly in the storing and bonding on films has been granted to the Irish Bonded Film Store, Ltd., and whether notice of this decision was given to any member of the film trade, or to either of the organisations of the film trade whose interests are most affected.

As regards the first part of the question, no monopoly for the storing and bonding of films has been granted to the Irish Bonded Film Store, Ltd. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.

May I ask the Minister whether he will give a Committee of the Dáil an opportunity of examining the contracts entered into concerning this alleged monopoly?

There are no contracts entered into. Premises have been approved as a bonded warehouse. They are the only premises for which approval has been sought. The Commissioners of Revenue can approve of other premises if application is made to them and if such are suitable.
