Vol. 6 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PAYMENT FOR CO. CORK NURSE.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will state the reasons for the refusal to sanction payment to Nurse Hayes for doing temporary duty in Skibbereen, Co. Cork, Fever Hospital; whether Nurse Hayes had previously been paid with the Department's sanction for duty of a like nature in the same hospital, and whether, in view of the fact that when Nurse Hayes agreed to take up duty, no other nurse was available, and that the sum due to her is a small one, he will sanction payment in the case.

Sanction was refused as the appointee was unable to furnish evidence that she held the required nursing qualifications.

There is no record of sanction having been previously given for her employment.

With regard to the last part of the question, it is not understood why a nurse could not have been obtained.
