Vol. 6 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TRIM SOLDIER'S CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Mr. Matthew Matthews. Oakstown, Trim, Co. Meath, served as Quartermaster in Trim Military Barracks for the period from the 1st March to the 11th May, 1922; whether he received no pay or compensation for time lost or service rendered, although promised 4s. 6d. per day; whether the Minister is aware that Mr. Matthews was transferred from Trim to Mullingar on the 11th March, 1922, and that he received no pay or compensation for his first week's service in Mullingar; and whether he will give this matter immediate consideration with a view to having payment of arrears to Mr. Matthews expedited.

There is no record of military service having been given by Mr. Matthews prior to his attestation on the 11th May, 1922. A form of application for arrears of pay has, however, been sent to him. On its return duly completed, the case will be considered.
