Vol. 6 No. 31

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RECONSTRUCTION OF CARLOW BRIDGES.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that a large number of unemployed workers in Co. Carlow will not benefit by the road grant for trunk roads; whether, seeing that a large number of bridges require to be reconstructed, he will undertake to facilitate the Carlow Co. Council by way of loan so as to undertake the reconstruction of those bridges and thereby relieve unemployment.

Inquiry will be made as to the extent of the unemployment referred to. I am prepared to consider any application which the Carlow County Council may make for sanction to a loan to be raised by the Council for the reconstruction of damaged bridges.
