Vol. 6 No. 31

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SLIGO CO. HOME COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether the Co. Sligo County Home Committee appointed three nurses for the Surgical Hospital on the 15th September, 1923; whether the sanction of his Department has not yet been given to these appointments; if he will state the cause of the delay, and whether it is proposed to withhold sanction.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The proposed appointments were sanctioned on the 4th instant. Before sanction could be given it was necessary to ascertain whether any of the nurses in the institutions abolished under the amalgamation scheme would be suitable for re-employment under the Board of Health, and also to issue a General Order dealing with the transfer of officials of abolished Committees and Boards of Guardians to Boards of Health.
