Vol. 7 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - NAAS GAS COMPANY'S ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that an account amounting to £589 is owing by the military in Naas Barracks for gas supplied by the Naas Gas Company up to March 31st, 1924, and whether in view of the fact that this sum represents one-sixth of the capital of the company he will give orders for payment as soon as possible.

A payment of £300 on account was made to the Naas Gas Company on the 3rd instant in respect of the period from the 1st February, 1923, to the 29th February, 1924, by the Commissioners of Public Works, who are responsible for the payment of gas accounts incurred by the Army before the 31st March, 1924. The balance of the account for the period mentioned will be paid on the receipt of certain particulars as to meter readings, which the company were asked to supply on the 2nd instant.

The account for March, 1924, has not yet been received.
