asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will inquire into the circumstances whereby a silver watch and chain sent on April 8th, 1924, through the post by Mrs. Bell, living at Shrewsbury, to her son, James Bell, Harristown, Co. Kildare, through Messrs. Pearson and Hope, jewellers, Shrewsbury, who registered the parcel, and declared contents, was confiscated, and whether, as the sender acted in absolute ignorance of the regulations, he will order the watch to be sent on to the addressee.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ALLEGED CONFISCATION OF REGISTERED POSTAL PARCEL.
It has not been possible so far to trace any record in the Post Office of the confiscation by the Customs Authorities of the articles referred to.
Inquiries are being pursued however, and I shall inform the Deputy of the result as soon as possible.
