Vol. 7 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EX-NATIONAL SOLDIER'S CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Volunteer John Cash, of Roseberry Commons, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Army No. 33082, did not receive a suit of civilian clothes when discharged from the National Army on the 11th April, 1924; whether he was informed that as there were no suits available in military stores he was to purchase a suit in Clonmel, and the price, £2 17s. 6d., would be refunded to him; further, whether the Minister will have enquiries made with a view to payment of this sum, and a sum of £6 18s. 0d. dependent's allowance due to his wife, to clear to the date of her husband's discharge.

Enquiries are being made relative to the civilian suit issuable to Mr. Cash. I will, however, communicate the result to the Deputy as soon as possible. A cheque for £3 1s. 3d., being the amount due in respect of dependent's allowance, has been sent to Mrs. Cash.
