Vol. 7 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OVER-DUE ARMY ACCOUNTS.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether the long overdue military accounts have been disbursed in respect of Messrs. Ryan, 46 North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork; Messrs. Field, Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork; Messrs. The Devonshire Arms Hotel, Youghal, Co. Cork; Messrs. The Atlantic Hotel, Youghal, Co. Cork; Messrs. Hennessy and Sons, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork; and, if not, if he will state the reasons in each case.

Accounts amounting to £93 19s. 4d. received from Messrs. Ryan have been discharged by the payment of £78 2s. 4d., the balance being deductions in respect of overcharges. An outstanding account for £2 12s. 11d. will be settled forthwith.

No account appears to have been received at Headquarters from Messrs. Field, who are, however, being communicated with on the matter.

Account totalling £126 16s. 6d. have been received from Messrs. the Devonshire Arms Hotel. Portion amounting to £43 18s. 0d. has been discharged by payments amounting to £28 8s. 0d. The balance of the account is under local investigation and will, it is expected, shortly be settled.

The accounts presented by The Atlantic Hotel, Youghal, have been cleared. If particulars of the amount alleged to be still due are furnished to the Cashier, Army Finance Office, Portobello Barracks, Dublin, the matter will be duly inquired into.

Messrs. Hennessy's accounts are on the point of being settled.
