Vol. 7 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PENSION FOR WOUNDED SOLDIER.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the cause of the delay in granting a pension under the Army Pensions Act, 1923, to William Wilson, Balheary, Swords, Co. Dublin, who was discharged from the National Army in December last owing to being medically unfit as a result of serious wounds received on 10th October, 1922, while on active service.

I regret the delay in granting a pension to Mr. Wilson. It has been due to the difficulty of providing for the medical examination, necessarily a slow matter, of a large number of applicants for wound pensions. However, Mr. Wilson's pension will be assessed and payment commenced forthwith.
