Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CARRICKMACROSS ILLICIT DISTILLATION OFFENDER.

PADRAIG O DUBHTHAIGH

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is prepared to recommend to the Minister for Justice the early release of Patrick Byrne, of Lisdoonan, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, who is undergoing a term of six months' imprisonment for being in possession of illicit spirits, as he is now prepared to pay a substantial portion of the fine.

The Revenue Commissioners have already consented to the immediate release of Patrick Byrne on payment of a sum of £20, and this decision has been communicated to the Minister for Justice.
