Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TOWN TENANTS' GRIEVANCES.

LIAM MAC SIOGHUIRD

asked the President if the Executive Council has considered the genuine grievances under which tenants in towns labour, and if it is proposed to introduce a measure to remove these grievances, and when.

I am fully in sympathy with the redressing of the grievances of tenants in towns, but, as I stated yesterday, I find it utterly impossible to cope with the amount of business on hands. I should like to have an opportunity of discussing this matter with other Ministers with a view to considering how best the interests of town tenants require protection. The Rent Restrictions Act and the Town Tenants Act may reasonably be construed as providing against the major difficulties of town tenants pending a more favourable opportunity for considering the matter.
