Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WATERFORD COUNTY COUNCIL OFFICIAL'S MOTOR CYCLE.

asked the Minister for Defence whether, on November 11th, 1922, a Triumph motor-bicycle, the property of Thomas B. Boyle, accountant to the Waterford County Council, was taken by Military from the garage of Mr. P. Hehir, Dungarvan; whether the owner received no receipt or acknowledgment from the Military; whether a claim has been submitted for payment for the commandeering of this bicycle, and if he will state what compensation, if any, will be awarded, and when it will be paid.

The facts appear to be as stated by the Deputy. Mr. Boyle's claim for compensation has been disallowed on the ground that he was an active sympathiser with the Irregulars.
