Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HOUSING ACT OFFICIALS (WESTMEATH APPOINTMENTS).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the names and addresses of the officers appointed under the Housing (Building Facilities) Act, 1924, for the Counties of Westmeath and Longford from whom persons can obtain information and certificates of approval for work already carried out or at present in the course of construction.

Persons desirous of obtaining grants under the Housing (Building Facilities) Act, 1924, in respect of houses commenced before the passing of the Act, should make application direct to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health. Such applications should be accompanied by plans of the houses and documentary evidence as to the date of commencement.

Applications for grants in respect of new houses in the rural areas of Counties Westmeath and Longford, not commenced before the passing of the Act, should be addressed to—

The Appointed Officer,

Housing Department,

Upper Merrion Street,

Dublin.

The "Appointed Officer" for Urban Districts is the Town Surveyor.

Arising out of that answer by the Minister, I would like to ask is the Minister prepared to accept the plans of any person prepared to build a house?

They would have to be investigated first.
