Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SALE OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION—LEIX APPLICATION.

asked the Minister for Justice if he can trace having received an application from Mr. P.J. Delaney, Mountrath, Leix, about three months ago for permission to sell arms and ammunition, and if, and when, he expects to be in a position to announce his decision in this case.

An application for registration as a firearms dealer was received through the Gárda Síochána from Mr. Delaney on the 2nd February last, and in compliance with a request contained in a letter from the Deputy, dated 15th April last, Mr. Delaney was informed on the 17th idem that his application had been received, and that it would be carefully considered if the number of firearm dealers was augmented.

I intend shortly to increase the number of registered firearm dealers, and will accordingly consider this case.
