Vol. 7 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - AMATEUR EXPERIMENTAL TRANSMISSION LICENCES.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the Radio Association of Ireland have applied for a licence for amateur experimental transmission on short waves, and if such licence will be granted; whether he is aware that considerable progress is being made in amateur wireless work in other countries, and whether, in view of this, it is intended to give citizens of the Saorstát similar advantages which they are now deprived of owing to the withholding of such licences.

An application has been received from the Radio Association of Ireland for a licence for experimental wireless transmission. The whole question of the conditions under which such licences can be granted is at present under consideration, and a decision in the matter will be arrived at very soon.
