Vol. 8 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIMS (WESTMEATH).

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will expedite payment of compensation to Mrs. O'Roarke, Lismacaffrey, Westmeath, formerly of Lisrane, Co. Longford, in respect of her son, Patrick O'Roarke, killed in action on September 16th, 1922, and who was in receipt of 7s. per week dependents allowance up to March 10th, 1924, when payment was stopped pending award from Pensions Board.

A form of application for pension or gratuity has been sent to Mrs. O'Roarke. On its return, duly completed, her claim will be considered with the least possible delay.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will expedite payment of compensation to John Robinson, No. 2790, 30th Battalion, at present residing with his widowed mother at Castlepollard, Westmeath, for the loss of his foot, which was amputated at St. Bricin's Hospital, Dublin, owing to a wound received through the accidental discharge of a rifle at Bandon Military Barracks, Co. Cork, in September, 1923.

Mr. Robinson's claim is on the point of being assessed. Payment of any award made will be effected in the very near future.
