Vol. 8 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ARMY PENSIONS CLERKS.

asked the Minister for Defence whether it is the case that clerks in the Army Pensions Office are being superseded by Post Office Sorting Clerks, and whether the latter have any experience of Army Pensions work or office routine.

The increase in the work of the Pensions Office has necessitated an increase in the staff of permanent Civil Servants. That increase has taken part in the form of the transfer from the Post Office of sorting clerks with experience in clerical work. There is no question of superseding clerks already in the office.
