Vol. 8 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIMS (CORK).

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has considered the granting of compensation or pensions to the dependents of the late William Deasy, Clogheen, Blarney Road; Daniel Crowley, Blarney Street; Michael Sullivan, Blarney St.; Thomas Dennehy, Blarney Street, Daniel Murphy, Blarney Street, and Jeremiah Mullane, Blarney Street, Cork, all killed by British Forces on 23rd March, 1921, when on active service.

The question of granting compensation in the cases mentioned by the Deputy has been considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, which has made recommendations to the Minister for Finance. As a result, I am informed, £200 was paid to the dependents of the late William Dennehy on the 7th instant, and payments will shortly be made in the other cases.
