Vol. 9 No. 12

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - LOSS OF A SON—COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether a claim in respect of the death of her son as a result of a beating at the hands of British Forces has been received from Mrs. Margaret Hickey, Pearse Street, Clonakilty, Co. Cork, and whether any award has yet been made in the case.

It is presumed that the Deputy refers to the application of Mrs. Mary Hickey, of Pearse Street, Clonakilty, which has been received by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee. After careful investigation of all the facts, the Committee recommended that no compensation should be paid in this case. The applicant's solicitor was informed accordingly on the 6th ultimo.
