WRITTEN ANSWERS. - UNTENANTED MEATH LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the untenanted lands of Baltrasna and Moylough, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, namely, Baltrasna Estate, consisting of 627 acres; Estate of Mrs. O'Reilly, Baltrasna, consisting of 106 acres; and the Estate of Mrs. O'Neill, Moylough, consisting of 109 acres; if he will state whether immediate steps will be taken to extend the holdings of the twenty-seven uneconomic and congested holdings on the Baltrasna Estate.

The Land Commission have made enquiries with regard to 599 acres of untenanted land in the townland of Baltrasna, on the Estate of Samuel J. Murdock, and do not propose at present to take any action in the matter. 112 acres, 3 roods, 29 perches of the same townland, and 112 acres, 2 roods, 3 perches of the townland of Martinstown were purchased, respectively, by Mrs. Annie C. O'Reilly and Frederick O'Neill as tenant purchasers under the Land Purchase Acts; the Land Commission do not propose, at present, to take any action with respect to these lands.
