Vol. 10 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLARE COUNCIL'S INCOME TAX.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the Killadysert District Council, County Clare, has been assessed for income tax in year 1924-25 to the amount of £18 8s. 9d. in respect of forty-two labourers' cottages provided in the area under the Housing of the Labourers (Ireland) Acts, 1883-1912, and if he is further aware that the aforesaid cottages entailed in the year under question a direct loss of £235 13s. 11d., being the excess of the total expenditure under the headings of repayments of loans and repairs over receipts comprised of rents received and contributions from the Exchequer; and if he will state whether the Revenue Commissioners will persist in enforcing the assessment.

I am having inquiries made in this case, and will communicate the result to the Deputy in due course.
