Vol. 11 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WIRELESS BROADCASTING STATION.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he can state how long a period will be necessary for the establishment of a Radio Broadcasting Station after a scheme for the purpose is approved, and whether he can hold out any hope to wireless licence-holders that a station will be in operation next autumn.

Assuming that no difficulty arises in getting early possession of a suitable site, it is estimated that a Radio Broadcasting Station can be put into operation in about six months after authority to erect the station has been given. I am not in a position to answer the second part of the question, as the decision in the matter rests with the Minister for Finance.
