Vol. 11 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS ORAL ANSWERS. - RECONSTRUCTION OF TRIM BARRACKS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether it is intended to reconstruct the ex-R.I.C. Barracks at Trim, Co. Meath, this year; and, if not, whether he will state the intentions of the Department in regard to the reconstruction or disposal of this large building, with its spacious grounds.

No provision for the restoration of the ex-R.I.C. Barrack at Trim is included in the current year's estimates for public works and buildings. The Gárda Síochána are at present accommodated in comfortable quarters, and the question of restoring the old barrack cannot be taken up until the more urgent cases of rebuilding barracks at centres at which the Gárda are unsatisfactorily housed are dealt with.
