Vol. 11 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. TIPPERARY INCIDENT.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state why a raid was made on the house of James O'Brien, of Castlegrace, Clogheen, Co. Tipperary, about midnight on the night of the 30th January, 1924, by the Gárda Síochána; if the Gárda burst in Mr. O'Brien's door, and kept him standing almost undressed for a long period; if they were not dressed in uniform, and if they refused to produce any evidence of identification, and if Mr. O'Brien had any means of knowing that they were members of the Gárda Síochána.

I have not received sufficient notice of this question to have details of the alleged raid furnished. Inquiries have been addressed to the Gárda Síochána, and if the Deputy will defer his question, I hope to be in a position to give a reply in the course of a few days.
