Vol. 11 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - USE OF A LORRY (CLAIM FOR PAYMENT).

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that repeated applications have been made by Mr. Charles Kavanagh, Neville Street, New Ross, for a sum of £35 claimed to be due to him for the use of lorries during 1922, and if he will state when the claim will be dealt with.

Several applications have been received from Mr. Kavanagh, who was informed on the 17th instant that his claim had been disallowed. I am having it reconsidered and will communicate the result to the Deputy at an early date.

Will the Minister say why the claim was disallowed?

I think it was disallowed for the reasons that it did not come as a charge upon the Army fund. But I am having the case reopened and I will see if the man is entitled to any money that he will get it.
