Vol. 11 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CIVIC GUARD (ACQUISITION OF PREMISES) ACT.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that the provisions of Section 2 of the Civic Guard (Acquisition of Premises) Act, 1923, have not been carried out in the case of the occupation of the business premises of Mr. Timothy Collins, Doon, Co. Limerick, by members of the Gárda Síochána, and if he will state the reasons for the non-observance of the terms of the Act in this particular case.

The premises occupied by the Gárda Síochána, at Doon, Co. Limerick, which are the former Royal Irish Constabulary Barracks, were not formally requisitioned under the Civic Guard (Acquisition of Premises) Acts, 1923 and 1924, as negotiations for the purchase of the property were proceeding with the owner, and terms of purchase have been agreed upon.
